Bilqis GreenTech has been selected as a finalist for the FHS World 2026 Startup Den, joining a group of startups presenting solutions to leaders across hospitality, investment and technology.
Bilqis will present B-Meter, our smart metering infrastructure for commercial waste. B-Meter is designed to make waste measurable and attributable while its source is still identifiable, before it is mixed or consolidated.
The selection comes as Bilqis advances from technical development into real-world pilot preparation in the UAE, following the completion of QSTP Incubation from June to September 2026.
FHS World brings together hospitality owners, operators, investors and innovators from across the region and internationally, making the Startup Den an important opportunity for Bilqis to introduce the new B-Meter positioning to potential pilot partners and industry stakeholders.
At the same summit, Safiatou Fomba also took part in the FHS World 2026 Hackathon, held in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. Five teams had less than two days to turn an untapped opportunity into a commercially viable concept for the UAE's tourism and hospitality sector; Safiatou's Technology & Design team developed Flowly.
The African Youth in Tourism and Hospitality Association (AYITHA) later spotlighted Safiatou's work, highlighting Bilqis GreenTech as practical, scalable innovation for hotels and resorts working towards their waste and sustainability targets.
Electricity has a meter. Water has a meter. Waste should too.
